The United States, on Tuesday, designated the leader of Pakistan-based terror organization, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Noor Wali alias Mufti Noor as a terrorist. Also known as Pakistan Taliban, the group is responsible for several suicide attacks and fatal strikes on hundreds of civilians, reported ANI. The US State Department has also named TTP as Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT). According to the US state department, Noor Wali alias Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud was named TTP leader in June 2008 after the death of former TTP leader Mullah Fazullah. "Under Noor Wali's tenure, the TTP claimed responsibility of various deadly terrorist attacks across Pakistan," the department said. As per the United Nations, the TTP is operating with Al-Qaida and is financing, planning, facilitating, preparing or supplying, selling or transferring arms and other materials to Al-Qaida. This is another blow to Pakistan which has been called out by the world community for supporting terrorist groups.
