Amethi (Uttar Pradesh), February 23: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday stated that if the BJP retains power in the state it would give Rs 900-1,000 every month to the farmers who will adopt and take care of stray cattle. Addressing a public meeting in Amethi, CM Adityanath stated, "We will give Rs.900-1000 every month to the farmers who will adopt and take care of stray cattle," and added "We have completely stopped illegal slaughterhouses. I promise that we will not let 'Gaumata' be slaughtered while we'll also protect fields of farmers from stray cattle." BJP to provide Rs 900 for taking care of stray cow Further taking a dig at previous governments, Adityanath said, "Whenever there used to be vacancies in the state before 2017, 'Saifai khandaan' (family) used to do 'vasooli' (charge money) for them but we gave 5 lakh government jobs to the youth." Earlier on Tuesday, Yogi Adityanath asked people to vote for those who “protect cows and not those who kill them" as he launched a campaign for the fifth phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections.
