UP elections 2022: Will provide Rs 900 for taking care of stray cattle, says CM Yogi Adityanath
Amethi (Uttar Pradesh), February 23: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday stated that if the BJP retains power in the state it would give Rs 900-1,000 every month to the farmers who will adopt and take care of stray cattle.
Addressing a public meeting in Amethi, CM Adityanath stated, "We will give Rs.900-1000 every month to the farmers who will adopt and take care of stray cattle," and added "We have completely stopped illegal slaughterhouses. I promise that we will not let 'Gaumata' be slaughtered while we'll also protect fields of farmers from stray cattle."
Further taking a dig at previous governments, Adityanath said, "Whenever there used to be vacancies in the state before 2017, 'Saifai khandaan' (family) used to do 'vasooli' (charge money) for them but we gave 5 lakh government jobs to the youth."
Earlier on Tuesday, Yogi Adityanath asked people to vote for those who “protect cows and not those who kill them" as he launched a campaign for the fifth phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections.

Amid tight security arrangements, the polling across nine districts of UP as part of Phase 4th elections 2022 has begun on Wednesday.
Polling is underway in all 59 constituencies and nine districts from 7 am in the morning and will come to an end till 6 pm in the evening.
Meanwhile, the previous three phases of polling in Uttar Pradesh concluded on February 10, 13, and 20, respectively. The fourth phase elections are underway while the remaining three phases of the seven-phase UP elections 2022 will take place on February 27, March 3, and March 7, respectively.
The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
