US President Donald Trump suspends H-1B, H-4 visas till year end

The US President Donald Trump issued an order suspending work visas, including H-1B, which is popular among Indian IT professional, till the end of 2020. Similarly, the US has extended restrictions on Green Card holders and added several temporary work visas to the freeze. Donald Trump has also suspended most categories of H-2B, H-1B, H-4, J, and L visa programmes till December-end. It also includes some categories of J visas like an intern, trainee, teacher, or camp counselor. As per the report, the US President said that it was necessary to help millions of Americans who have lost their jobs due to the current economic crisis. The proclamation is set to come into effect on June 24. Reportedly, it is expected to leave an impact on a large number of Indian IT professionals and several American and Indian companies who were issued H-1B visas by the US government for the fiscal year 2021 beginning October 1. US Now, they would now have to wait till the end of 2020 before approaching the US diplomatic missions to get stamping. Likewise, a large number of Indian IT professionals would also be impacted who are seeking renewal of their H-1B visas.
