US-Iran tensions: Iran claims 80 people killed in missile attacks, Iraq military says, "No casualties among Iraqi forces"

US-Iran tensions: Iranian state media has stated that 80 people were killed in missile attacks on US bases in Iraq by Iran on Wednesday. Iran launched dozens of ballistic missiles from its territory against two Iraqi facilities hosting US-led coalition at around 1:30 am. However, the Iraqi military has stated that no soldier died in the Iranian missile attacks earlier this morning. In a statement, the Iraqi military said, "Iraq was subjected between 1:45 and 2:45 this morning of January 8, 2020, to bombardment by 22 missiles." "17 missiles fell on Ain al-Asad airbase which include two that did not explode ... and five on the city of Erbil that all fell on coalition headquarters. No casualties among Iraqi forces were recorded," it added. https://www.ptcnews.tv/iran-us-tension-india-issues-travel-advisory-asks-airlines-to-avoid-airspace-over-iraq-iran-and-gulf/ Meanwhile, US President took to twitter and wrote: "All is well! Missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good! We have the most powerful and well equipped military anywhere in the world, by far! I will be making a statement tomorrow morning." The attack came days after the Iranian commander General Qassem Soleimani was killed in US air strike. The killing of Iranian commander has raised fears of wider war in the Middle East. -PTC News
