UP man beaten to death by cousins for not getting corona test done

A man was beaten to death by his cousins, allegedly for not getting tested for the coronavirus after his return from Delhi. The incident took place in Malakpur village in Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh. The deceased has been identified as Manjeet Singh (23) who died on Friday during the treatment in Meerut. Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against Manjeet’s cousins, Kapil and Manoj, their mother Puniya and Manoj’s wife Dolly at the Nahtaur police station on a complaint filed by the father of the deceased Kalyan Singh on Sunday. The SHO, Nahtaur police station, Satya Prakash Singh stated that no arrests have been made yet in the case. As per the reports, Manjeet has died due to head injuries. 21 Indian returned from America tested positive for coronavirus Reportedly, his sample was not collected for COVID-19 test by doctors during treatment. Likewise, Additional SP, Bijnor, Sanjay Kumar said that he underwent thermal screening when he reached Bijnor on May 19 from Delhi where he was reported negative so his sample was not collected. SHO Satya Prakash Singh said, "Since his return, Kapil and Manoj were regularly asking Manjeet to get his corona test done. On Thursday, the cousins asked Manjeet again to get his test done after which an argument took place between them." When Manjeet fell unconscious, he was rushed to government hospital by his parents where he succumbed to injuries," Singh said. -PTC News
