Uttar Pradesh: Pilot killed as trainer aircraft crashes in Azamgarh
In a major incident, a pilot was killed after his trainer aircraft crashed near Kushwapurawa village under the Saraimeer police station area of Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday at around 11 am, the police said.
According to a senior police officer, the nearby people in Kushapurwa village informed the police that the aircraft, reportedly, lost height all of a sudden and it broke into several pieces as it crashed on the ground.
It has been reported that the aircraft belonged to the Centre-run flying-training institute Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udan Akademi (IGRUA) in Amethi.
The senior officials and personnel of the Azamgarh Police are currently observing the rescue and relief operation.

Meanwhile, the police rushed to the spot after receiving information from the locals. With the help of locals, the debris was removed and a body was taken out of it.
The police is trying to get more information about the incident, the police officer said.
