Vigilance nabs revenue patwari in bribe case
Vigilance catch revenue patwari while accepting bribe case. Chandigarh, August 10: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed a Revenue Patwari caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 4,000/-.
Disclosing this here an official spokesman of the Vigilance Bureau said a revenue Patwari Sukhmandar Singh posted at halqa Harino district Faridkot was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Udham Singh of village Harino district Faridkot. The Complainant has approached the VB and alleged that he had already paid Rs. 8000 for registration of intekal of his land and demanding Rs. 4000 more for the same.
After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused Patwari was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.4,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.
He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Faridkot and further investigations was under progress.
