Vigilance Nabs ASI for taking Bribe
State Vigilance Bureu on Wednesday arrested Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) for taking bribe. ASI was caught red- handed while accepting bribe of Rs 10,000.

According to the media reports, the accused, ASI Hardev Singh, was posted at police station Shimlapuri in Ludhiana district. He was caught red-handed on the complaint made by Bhan Singh of Gobind Nagar, Ludhiana district. Bhan singh approached the state vigilance bureau and told them that the accused was demanding Rs 10,000 to help his son in a dispute case.

The Vigilence team verified the fact first. After verifying, the Vigilance team laid a trap. The accused ASI was arrested on the spot taking bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against ASI Hardev Singh.
