Vikram Sarabhai 100th Birthday: Google on Monday is celebrating the 100th birthday of the father of the Indian space program, with a Google Doodle. Also, the Chandrayaan 2 which was launched into space on July 22, 2019, which is scheduled to reach the moon on August 20 and drop a lander called 'Vikram' on the sole satellite of Earth on September 7. Vikram Sarabhai or Dr Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai, an Indian Scientist, who was born on August 12, 1919, and died on December 30, 1971. He was born in Ahmedabad, Bombay Presidency, British India. Also, he is been regarded as the father of India's space programme. Vikram Sarabhai was given the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in 1962. Also, in 1966, he was rewarded as the Padma Bhushan and in 1972, the Padma Vibhushan. Vikram was married to Mrinalini, who was the famous classical dancer. He had two children, a daughter Mallika, who became prominent actress and activist, while son Kartikeya Sarabhai, who joined the venture of science. -PTC News-
