Activists of various organisations of the Bhakna village and surrounding localities paid tributes to Gadar party founder Baba Sohan Singh Bhakna on his birth anniversary at Village Bhakna in Amritsar on Friday.

The Ghadar party was formed in 1913 in the United States of America. Baba Sohan Singh Bhakna was the first President of Gadar party.

The party also published a newspaper which was the backbone of the party known as Ghadar: Angrez Raj da Dushman. The party launched a protest against the British rule in India. The party organised meetings in villages, and convinced people to revolt against injustice to attain freedom.
