'Security is the main concern, we have adequate security in Pathankot' says Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on transfer of Kathua rape and murder case to Pathankot Court on Monday morning. The Supreme Court (SC) today transferred the Kathua gangrape-and-murder case to Pathankot, Punjab. The victim’s father had filed a plea to move the trial to Chandigarh. Meanwhile, the accused have filed a plea seeking to transfer the case to the CBI from the police. Her body was found in the same area a week later.
The girl’s father had moved the apex court earlier, apprehending ta hreat to the family, a friend and their lawyer Deepika Singh Rajawat. A separate plea was also filed by two accused seeking that the trial in the case be held in Jammu and the probe handed over to the CBI. -PTC News
