Who will be the 'Channi' of Rajasthan: Sunil Jakhar mocks Congress; calls situation 'deja vu'

New Delhi, September 25: In the midst of speculation about Ashok Gehlot's replacement as Rajasthan Chief Minister following his bid for the Congress presidency, Sunil Jakhar, a former Punjab Congress chief who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in May, took a jab at the Congress party and asked, "who will be the Channi of Rajasthan?" He also referred to the situation as "deja vu." Jakhar's remarks come ahead of the Rajasthan Congress Legislature Party meeting which is set to take place in Jaipur on Sunday evening. "Congress MLAs meet in Jaipur today and go through the motions of electing their new leader, party high command, instead of choosing from many 'dark horses' in-waiting, may foist a 'black sheep' of their choice as CM," Jakhar said on Twitter. Today's Congress legislative party meeting will be conducted at Gehlot's residence in Jaipur, and a resolution relating to the change of leadership in Rajasthan will be passed. The resolution would be passed in response to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi's decision on the change of face in Rajasthan.
