Govt to reach out to opposition for passage of key bills like GST, say sources after meeting of Cabinet Committee of Parliamentary Affairs. The Modi government is looking to pass few critical bills like the GST but with such a humiliating defeat, it seems highly unlikely that government will push for it without the support of Congress. With the Bihar win on its strides, a resurgent Congress may behave more aggressively in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The last monsoon session was a complete washout, with united opposition hell bent on giving tough time for the NDA. The Centre's most important reform bill, the Goods and Services Tax bill, remained in the Upper House without it being passed.
