Woman burnt alive over dowry demand in UP
A woman in Uttar Pradesh became a victim of a deeply regressive mindset, i.e. dowry. She was burnt alive by her in-laws in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The incident took place in Haibatpur village.

The victim was identified as Sonia who was married to Arvind Kumar. The victim was set afire because the victim’s family was not able to fulfil the dowry demand.

A case has been registered against Arvind Kumar, his father Mageram, mother Mandri and sister Suman. According to media reports, all these are absconding. The police has sent the victim’s body for post mortem.
