‘Women are not safe and you are protecting cows’:Thackeray hits out at Shah
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party for the way it was protecting cows while paying no attention to the issue of women’s safety.
BJP’s idea of Hindutva is not similar to the way Shiv Sena considers it, Thackeray added.
“In the rush to protect cows, our country has become the most unsafe for women. We should protect gaumata but what about my mata? Instead of protecting women, we are questioning if someone has had beef. That is not Hindutva,” added Thackeray.
“Chanakya had used his politics for the betterment of the nation, not for his party. Chanakya might have said that defeat the enemies of the nation, rule ethically.”
“Does the person who calls himself Chanakya have these qualities?” This modern Chanakya is just formulating policies intended to grow his own party and not the country, said Thackeray.
He further dismissed distributing Bhagavad Gita in schools as a tactic to divert attention from the woes being faced by people by stirring religious debates.
“On the one hand, we are dreaming of Digital India, while on the other hand, you are distributing Gita. Why don’t you better the education system instead?”
