The foundation work for Abu Dhabi Hindu temple is in the final stage at Abu Mureikha. It has been built to a height of around 4.5 metres from the ground level, a report stated. The Project engineer Ashok Kondeti was quoted by a report saying that Abu Dhabi Hindu temple was a one-time opportunity. He said that he has been monitoring the progress of the project and was very blessed to be a part of this project. It has been built to a height of around 4.5 metres. Furthermore, he informed that concrete of around 4,500 cubic metres and backfilling with 3,000 cubic metres have been poured from January. The concrete has been gaining strength, he said, adding that this was a good thing for this project and that the workers have been doing the backfilling layer by layer with sand available on the site. He also said that there has been no need to import material from outside. Likewise, stones have been received from India for the same while the placing of stones would be done by next week. The total foundation work is expected to be concluded by the end of April while the actual stonework can commence in May. The major portion of the stonework has been reportedly done from Rajasthan and Gujarat by more than 2,000 sculptors that reflects the rich culture and history of India and it also includes Arab symbols. The stonework includes the Indian epics Ramayana, Mahabharata and other narratives from Hindu mythology. According to the information, the temple would be built as per the ancient Hindu ‘shilpa shastras’, the Sanskrit scriptures of architecture. The complex of Abu Dhabi Hindu temple will be having a centre for visitor’s, prayer halls, library, classroom, community centre, majlis, play areas, gardens, books, gift shops, food court and other facilities.
