Montreal will continue as the headquarter of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) on Thursday lauded the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) decision to keep its head office in Montreal for next 14 years  i.e.  until  2031. Montreal has been the home of the WADA ever since its inception in 1999. WADA has become an integral part of the world sports in general and the Olympic movement in particular. Montreal will continue as the headquarter of the World Anti-Doping Agency The decision to continue its headquarter in Montreal was taken at a meeting in Seoul where the WADA’s Foundation Board accepted the joint proposal from the Government of Quebec and the Government of Canada drafted by Montréal International following several months of negotiations. “We applaud the World Anti-Doping Agency’s decision to stay in Montreal for the next 14 years,” said Chris Overholt, CEO and Secretary General of the COC. “We are happy to see how fruitful these negotiations have been.” Montreal will continue as the headquarter of the World Anti-Doping Agency “We will continue our commitment as WADA partners to be world leaders in the fight against doping in sport. We firmly believe that we are embarking on a new era of the international sport, one anchored in clean and ethical competition.” Now, the COC looks forward to working closely with WADA at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang beginning in February. -PTC News-
