Israel PM Netanyahu offers $5 million reward for each hostage returned by Gaza
PTC News Desk: Israel will give $5 million to any Gaza resident who returns held hostage, as well as safe passage out of the war-torn area, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Tuesday.
“To those who want to leave this entanglement, I say: Whoever brings us a hostage will find a safe way out for himself and his family,..We will also give $5 million for every hostage. Choose. The choice is yours, but the result will be the same. We will bring them all back," he said. “
It's the latest twist in Netanyahu's failed attempts to keep promises made to hostage families to return those kidnapped when Hamas militants struck Israel more than a year ago.
“I want to say to those who are holding our hostages: Whoever dares to harm our hostages will pay the price. We will pursue you, and we will find you,” Netanyahu said in a visit to Israeli troops in Gaza.

When Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, it killed around 1,200 individuals and abducted about 250 more. More than 100 hostages were released during a year-long cease-fire, and the military rescued a small number. Around 100 people remain in Gaza, with roughly 40 reported to be dead.
