5 drown in Yamuna river while immersing Lord Krishna's idol
New Delhi [India], August 29: Five youths died due to drowning in Yamuna river under DND flyover during immersing idol of Lord Krishna on Sunday.
The deceased drown have been identified as Ankit (20), Lucky (16) Lalit (17) Beeru (19) and Ritu Raj alias Sanu (20).

As per the sources, police reached the spot as soon as they received the information.
Sources further stated that idol got stuck in the middle of the river, the six boys entered and swim till the middle of the river to immerse the idol but only one managed to come back and five youths drowned.
The bodies of all five have been recovered from the river and sent to Safdarjung Hospital for post-mortem. All were residents of Salarpur village, Greater Noida, the police added.
