Govt crushed our voices like they crushed farmers' voices: Harsimrat Kaur Badal
Farmers' Protest issue during Parliament's Monsoon Session 2021: Former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Monday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government for crushing the voice of opposition.
She said that when 'annadata' was dying every day, everything should be halted and black laws should be discussed to stop further deaths.
"But I'm sad that Govt has become so insensitive that they've crushed our voices like they crushed farmers' voices in the past 13 months," said Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
She has been asserting that thousands of farmers have been protesting despite Covid-19, several people have lost their lives during the agitation. "Should the Parliament not discuss ways to address this issue?" she asked.
Shiromani Akali Dal along with Bahujan Samajwadi Party's MPs have been protesting against farm laws outside the Parliament during the Monsoon Session 2021.
Thousands of farmers have been protesting against farm laws and have been seeking a guarantee on MSP. There have been several rounds of meeting between the Centre and farmer unions but all of them remained inconclusive.
Farmers have been protesting against the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
