IED Blast Jalalabad city Leaves Two Dead Two people were killed and five others were injured after an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in Jalalabad city in Afghanistan on Monday morning. According to media reports, IED was attached to a military vehicle. When the blast took place, the police rushed the injured to a nearby hospital. No individual or group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. The blast took place in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province. Nine others were injured in the attack. Following the suicide blast, a gun battle between the militants and locals guards started and continued for five hours. The US forces assisted the Afghan troops in the shootout.
