Fog horror: 7 people from Chandigarh killed in road accident in Ambala

Seven members of a family including two minors were killed while three others were injured in a road accident on Saturday in Ambala. The vehicle in which they were travelling was hit by a truck near Drive Inn resort due to dense fog around 1 am.

The victims were travelling in two vehicles from Chandigarh to Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh. One of the vehicles developed a problem. While they were able to find the fault, a truck hit the vehicle from behind. The driver of the heavy vehicle fled after the accident.

Police reached the spot and rushed the injured to the Civil Hospital. The injured were identified as Palak, Sunita and Renuka. They were referred to the PGI in Chandigarh.

The deceased have been identified as Piyush (5), Harshita (9), Asha Rani (46), Kavita (36), Ranjana (18), and Suresh (45).

A case against the driver has been registered.
