India made a flying start in the Hockey World League semi-finals that started in London on Thursday. India opened its campaign with a thumping 4-1  win over Scotland. After conceding an early goal in the first quarter, India went on a scoring spree in the third quarter scoring all their four goals, including a brace by mercurial Ramandeep Singh followed by goals by Akashdeep Singh and Harmanpreet Singh. Since Rupinderpal Singh has to be withdrawn from the team because of an injury, Harmanpreet scored from the first penalty corner India earned in the game against dogged Scottish team.
