Morni Gang Rape: HC seeks Status Report From Hry Govt In 10 Days

In the alleged Morni gang-rape: the court of chief justice took interest in the case. High Court has sought the status report from Haryana Government within 10 days.

A new turn came in this case when the victim's husband was arrested by the police in connection with an alleged sex racket, which was being run by main accused Sunny and Avtar.

Recently, Panchkula police have arrested husband of the 21-year-old woman, who was allegedly Gang- raped at a guest house in Kaimbwala village in Morni for four days by 40 men.

As per call details, the victim’s husband and Sunny had telephonic conversations nine to 10 times from July 15 to July 18, when the incident happened.

Panchkula DCP Rajendar Kumar Meena said, “We are investigating the sex racket angle in the case. At this point in the investigation, we cannot divulge more details. It will be shared once we are done with our probe.”

ASI Saraswati posted at the women police station, Sector 5, was suspended over turning away the victim when she approached her with a complaint on July 19.

The role of inspector Rajesh Kumari came under the scanner after the suspended ASI claimed that she was acting on the orders of the SHO.
