Fire scare on Abu Dhabi flight in Chennai: Plane carrying 280 passengers grounded after wing blaze

Chennai: An Etihad Airways flight scheduled to depart for Abu Dhabi from Chennai was forced to cancel its journey on Tuesday after a fire was spotted on the aircraft’s left wing moments before take-off, airport officials confirmed.
The Chennai-Abu Dhabi flight, carrying nearly 280 passengers, was preparing for departure when the cockpit crew noticed flames emerging from one side of the aircraft. Authorities immediately initiated emergency procedures and safely evacuated all passengers from the plane.
Officials said no injuries were reported during the evacuation process.
Fire Service teams stationed at the airport quickly responded and managed to extinguish the blaze within a short time. Following the incident, the flight was officially cancelled.
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed, and further investigation is expected. Etihad Airways is yet to issue any statement in this regard.
