Lok Sabha elections 2024: After much delay, the Congress on Tuesday announced to field Sher Singh Ghubaya from Ferozepur Lok Sabha seat.

Earlier this week, former MP Sher Singh Ghubaya, who had always been frontrunner for the Congress ticket in Ferozepur, had said the delay in the announcement of the candidate would affect the election campaign.

Notably, AAP has fielded Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar, sitting MLA from Muktsar, while SAD has chosen Nardev Singh Bobby Mann, son of former MP Zora Singh Mann, as its candidate. Surinder Kamboj, father of AAP MLA Jagdeep Singh Goldy Kamboj, is contesting from the BSP. They have already been actively campaigning in the constituency.

Ghubaya had earlier won this seat twice representing the SAD in 2009 and 2014.
