Tarn Taran all set for byelection tomorrow: 222 polling booths set up; over 1.92 lakh voters to cast ballots

PTC Web Desk: Ahead of the Tarn Taran Assembly constituency byelection on Tuesday (November 11), the district administration has completed all arrangements for smooth polling. Polling parties were dispatched to the stations with EVMs and other election materials under strict security measures.

A total of 222 polling booths have been established across the constituency, where 1,92,838 voters will exercise their franchise. Voting will take place from 7 am to 6 pm, and the counting of votes is scheduled for November 14.

To ensure security, the police have deployed around 3,000 personnel, including central security forces, and have implemented tight arrangements at all polling stations. CCTV cameras and webcasting facilities will monitor all booths, and micro observers have been appointed at sensitive locations to oversee the process.

SSP Surinder Lamba stated that 50 checkpoints had been set up across the district to prevent any untoward incidents, and police patrols were active to maintain law and order.
