Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to hold press conference shortly following decisive victory in the Municipal Elections
Shiromani Akali Dal has levelled serious allegations of malpractice, claiming irregularities during the counting of votes in Moga Municipal Corporation’s 50 wards.
The party alleged that Akali Dal candidates were mistreated during the counting process. Several candidates claimed that the seals of their ballot boxes were already broken before they were allowed to verify them, which, according to them, indicates foul play.
Akali Dal core committee member Jathedar Tirth Singh Mahla and Halka in-charge Sanjeet Singh “Sunny” Gill stated that democracy was openly violated in Moga. They said that these elections were not won but “stolen.”
