Giani Raghbir Singh relieved of duties as head granthi of Golden Temple with immediate effect
The action follows 72-hour ultimatum issued to Giani Raghbir Singh by the SGPC to substantiate the allegations levelled against the Sikh body.
PTC News Desk: Days after the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee issued a 72-hour ultimatum to Giani Raghbir Singh, he has been relieved of duties as head granthi of Golden Temple.
The decision was announced by SGPC president Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami during a press conference.
The action comes days after SGPC issued a notice to Giani Raghbir Singh to coroborate his allegaltions levelled against the apex body.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Advocate Dhami said the statements made by Giani Raghbir Singh in recent days had raised serious concerns. He stated that making allegations without concrete evidence while holding the esteemed position of Head Granthi at Sri Harmandir Sahib had adversely affected the image of the SGPC.
