Punjab accident : Bus returning from Baisakhi fair overturns near Fatehgarh Sahib, several devotees critically injured
PTC Web Desk: A bus carrying devotees returning from the Baisakhi fair met with a serious accident near Main Majri village in Fatehgarh Sahib district late Tuesday evening.
According to initial reports, the devotees were on their way back after paying obeisance at Sri Anandpur Sahib when the bus overturned near Main Majri on the Chunni–Morinda road.
Around 35 to 40 passengers were travelling in the bus at the time of the accident.
Most of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. Local residents rushed to the spot immediately after the incident and helped in rescuing the passengers. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Those with severe injuries have been referred to PGI Chandigarh for advanced medical care.
Authorities have reached the scene and further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
