Janmashtami celebrated with devotion and festivity at Mohali Wave Estate
Children from all three Dahi Handi teams awarded cash prizes | Meritorious students of Class 10 and 12 who excelled in academics felicitated
PTC Web Desk: The sacred festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm at Wave Estate, Sector 85, Mohali, under the aegis of Shri Sanatan Dharam Mandir Samiti, Wave Estate Sector 85 & 99.
The three-day celebration commenced with a morning devotional procession (Prabhat Feri). The main festivities began on Janmashtami with the traditional Dahi Handi programme, in which children of Wave Estate enthusiastically participated. This was followed by a soulful bhajan session. During the event, children from all three Dahi Handi teams were awarded cash prizes. Besides, meritorious students of Class 10 and 12 who excelled in academics were felicitated.
Sanjeev Vashisht, district president of BJP Mohali, was the chief guest. Kiran Pal Bagga, president, and Varun Vasudeva, general secretary of the mandir samiti, expressed gratitude to residents of Wave Estate for their support. They also thanked the temple committee members, volunteers, and well-wishers for their dedicated efforts in making the celebration a grand success.
The committee also shared updates on the upcoming temple land and construction project, reaffirming their commitment to begin temple construction soon.
The celebration concluded at midnight with the ritual birth ceremony of Lord Krishna.
