Punjab and Haryana high court receives bomb threat email; officials swing into action, building evacuated

PTC News Desk: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has received a bomb threat on Thursday.  An e-mail claiming to blow up the high court was received in the morning. 

The bomb disposal squad along with several teams of police officials swung into action vacated the building. 

According to the High Court Bar Association, an alert regarding a bomb threat at the Hon’ble High Court was received following which all the members were asked to leave the premises. They were also directed that if any suspicious or unattended items are found within the premises, it should be immediately informed to the office of the High Court Bar Association, Chandigarh. 

Meanwhile as a precautionary measure, all the nearby buildings and institutions in the way of High Court were also ordered for immediate evacuation.
