The Jallianwala Bagh massacre that took place on April 13 , 1919 was the theme of the tableau of Punjab for the Republic Day parade in Delhi on January 26.

The portion of the tableau showcased the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy in which Colonel Reginald Dyer ordered his british Army soldiers to open fire at unarmed men, women and children’s  who had gathered at Jallianwala Bagh for a peaceful protest on Baisakhi.

Meanwhile,it was for the third time in a row  that Punjab's tableau appeared during the R-Day parade.
