Punjab Assembly elections 2022: Qadian is located in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. It is one of the 117 seats of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Fatehjung Singh Bajwa of the Congress is the current MLA. He had won the 2017 Punjab elections by defeating his nearest opponent Sewa Singh Sekhwan of the SAD with a margin of 11,737 votes.

Voters

According to the voters' list for the 2017 Assembly elections, the total number of voters in the constituency is 1,71,852. As many as 212 polling stations were established by the Election Commission during these elections. A total of 1,30,950 votes were cast in the Qadian constituency and the percentage of voting held 76.20%, which was recorded lower than the state average.

Candidates

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) gave the ticket to Kanwalpreet Singh Kaki for the 2017 Assembly elections while

the SAD named Sewa Singh Sekhwan as its party candidate from Qadian constituency. Fatehjung Singh Bajwa of the Congress defeated his nearest opponent Sewa Singh Sekhwan of the SAD with a margin of 11,737 votes.
