Sikh Yatrees from Canada get glimpses of cultural heritage in Pakistan

A delegation of fifteen Sikh Yatrees from Canada on Sunday visited Gurdawara Babey Di Beri in Sialkot and Gurdawara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Shakargarh.

Gurdwara Babey Di Beri Sialkot in charge, Sardar Jaskaran Singh Sidhu told that Sikh Yatrees performed religious rites and refreshed their memories there.

Also, a delegation of 83 Sikh Yatrees from Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand on Saturday visited the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage as a part of their visit to Pakistan for pilgrimage.

Senior officials of Lok Virsa Heritage Museum received them and briefed them about the important aspects of Pakistan’s traditional culture. The Sikh Yatrees took a special interest in displays like Sufis, folktales textile, wedding rituals, silk thread, truck art, etc.

The Sikh Yatrees delegation led by Sardar Amrit Singh praised and thanked Pakistan government’s efforts for making their stay comfortable. They also lauded Pakistan government’s efforts for ensuring religious freedom to minorities like Sikhism and also safeguarding gurudwaras.
