Karnataka man kills delivery boy, unable to pay for iPhone

Police traced the CCTV footage and arrested the culprit

Bengaluru, February 20: In a recent horrific incident that took place in Karnataka, where a 20-year-old man, who had ordered an iPhone online and was unable to pay to the agent, allegedly murdered the wish-master.

The EKart delivery agent Hemanth Naik was stabbed multiple times by Hemanth Dutt on February 7 as he was unable to pay for the phone. He ordered an iPhone at his home in Hassan district. The subsidiary of Flipkart is EKart which is a e-commerce platform.

According to the investigation made, Dutt stored the victim's body in a sack and kept it at his house for four days before burning it. It was caught on the CCTV tat he carried the body in a two-wheeler to the nearest railway track and burned it. 


Police further said that Dutt burned the body with the help of petrol and destroyed all evidence. Police also mentioned that due to the help of CCTV footage the culprit was arrested. 

When the search operation was on when the victim's brother Manju Naik reported him missing, at that time the police started investigating the case. 

Dutt was captured on CCTV cameras riding a two-wheeler with the body towards railway tracks. He was also seen buying petrol in a bottle from a petrol pump two days earlier.
