UK: A statue has been unveiled in the West Yorkshire town of Huddersfield to honour the role of thousands of Sikh soldiers who were part of the fight along with British forces in two World Wars. The six feet high bronze statue that cost £65,000 in the Greenhead Park marks the culmination of a project of Sikh Soldier Organisation (SSO), which coordinated donations and other activities. Meanwhile, other local bodies also supported the project.
