PTC Web Desk:  Iran’s key nuclear site at Natanz Nuclear Facility was targeted in an airstrike on Saturday, according to the country’s official news agency. Authorities said there was no radiation leak, even as the ongoing conflict in West Asia entered its fourth week.

Natanz, located about 220 km southeast of Tehran, is Iran’s main uranium enrichment centre. The site had already been hit earlier in the conflict, with satellite images showing damage to several structures. International observers had earlier stated that no major nuclear risk was expected from those attacks.

The latest strike comes amid rising tensions involving Iran, Israel and the United States. Notably, the facility had also been targeted during earlier clashes in 2025.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said he is considering reducing military operations in the region, even as the United States continues to increase its military presence. Reports indicate that additional naval ships and around 2,500 Marines are being sent to West Asia, adding to the already large number of US troops stationed there.

Despite talk of scaling back, the conflict shows no signs of slowing down. Missile and drone attacks have continued across the region. Saudi Arabia recently reported intercepting multiple drones over its eastern region, which houses major oil facilities.

The situation has also affected global markets. Rising tensions have pushed oil prices above $100 per barrel, leading to concerns about fuel costs and supply chains worldwide. In response, the US has temporarily eased some restrictions on Iranian oil already loaded on ships in an effort to stabilise prices.

At the same time, Iran has issued warnings that it may target locations beyond the Middle East, raising fears of a wider conflict. Iranian leadership has praised its citizens for staying strong during the war, which has disrupted normal life, including celebrations of Nowruz.

In Lebanon, Israeli forces have continued strikes against Hezbollah positions in Beirut’s southern areas, causing heavy damage and displacement. The ongoing violence has led to significant casualties across multiple countries, with thousands affected since the conflict began.
