PTC News Desk: Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch, has won the Miss Universe 2025 crown. She was crowned in a grand event in Thailand by Miss Universe 2024, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig from Denmark. Thailand’s Praveenar Singh was the runner-up, while Venezuela’s Stephany Abasali, the Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo, and the Ivory Coast’s Olivia Yacé were also in the top five. India’s Manika Vishwakarma did not reach the top 12.

Fatima Bosch had already been in the news a few weeks earlier when she walked out of a meeting after Miss Universe host Nawat Itsaragrisil publicly criticised her. The video went viral because Fatima, wearing her evening gown and high heels, walked out after Nawat allegedly called her a “dumbhead.”

He had reportedly argued with her, accusing her of not posting the required promotional content on social media. The argument was caught on a live stream. Nawat later apologised but denied using rude language.

In the viral video, as he asked security to step in, Bosch — wearing her sash — left the room with Miss Iraq walking beside her in a sparkling gown.

Bosch told reporters, “What your director did is disrespectful — he called me dumb. The world needs to see this because we are strong women, and this platform should let us speak.”

Many contestants supported her, after which Nawat warned those wanting to stay in the pageant to “sit down.”
