Sri Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj receives grand welcome during Hong Kong visit

Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj received a warm welcome from the Sikh community upon his arrival in Hong Kong for a three-day visit to Gurdwara Khalsa Diwan Sikh Temple

PTC Web Desk: Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj, arrived in Hong Kong on Friday for a three-day visit following an invitation from Gurdwara Khalsa Diwan Sikh Temple. Members of the local Sikh community and the gurdwara management welcomed him with great respect and enthusiasm.

He was honoured with a Siropao (robe of honour) and garlands as the congregation raised the traditional Sikh slogan, "Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal."

After reaching Gurdwara Khalsa Diwan Sikh Temple, the youth of the gurdwara welcomed the Jathedar with Jaikaras and formed a ceremonial guard of honour by holding swords, following Sikh tradition.

During his visit, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj will take part in Gurmat congregations, address the sangat, and interact with members of the Sikh community, especially the youth. He is also expected to promote Sikh teachings and encourage religious awareness among the local community.

The Sikh community has a long history in Hong Kong. Sikhs first settled there around 125 years ago and established Sri Guru Singh Sabha in 1901. Today, Gurdwara Khalsa Diwan Sikh Temple serves as one of the oldest and most important Sikh religious centres in the region.

Jathedar Gargaj is accompanied by his media advisor, Jaskaran Singh, during the visit.

Among those present to receive him were head granthi Giani Jaswant Singh, president Nirmal Singh Patiala, vice president Jugraj Singh Dugri, Mahinder Singh Pakki, Daljit Singh Zira, Baljinder Singh, Jujhar Singh, Jaskaran Singh Wander, Baljit Singh, Sukhchain Singh, Gaganpreet Singh, Jeevan Singh, Tejpal Singh, Navjeet Singh and several other members of the Sikh community.
