PTC News Desk: An Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader was shot dead by masked assailants in Punjab's Ferozepur district. The firing killed the AAP leader, while one of his associates was injured.The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Gurpreet Singh, while the injured person has been identified as Harpreet Singh. He was taken to a hospital for treatment and was later referred to another facility due to the seriousness of his condition. The incident took place in Mamdot.Ferozepur SSP Bhupinder Singh, who reached the spot, said the preliminary investigation suggested that the attack may have been linked to political rivalry over elections. He said the investigation is still underway and the full picture will become clear once it is completed.The SSP added that police have identified the suspected attackers but did not disclose their identities at this stage.A doctor at the Civil Hospital said that two injured people reached the hospital at around 8 pm on Saturday.Police teams are continuing their investigation into the shooting and are working to establish the exact motive behind the attack.
