New Delhi, March 15: It will take only nine seconds to demolish twin Supertech towers in Noida’s Sector 93A! Yes, you read it right. It would have taken a couple of years to construct these buildings, but will be razed within nine seconds. Why did SC order Noida's Supertech’s 40-storey twin tower demolition? The twin Supertech towers are being demolished following the orders of the Supreme Court, and will be demolished by May 22. The project was executed in violation of laws and involved an “unholy nexus" with the Noida Authority. The two towers would fall almost simultaneously — taller tower a few milliseconds after the smaller one 2,500 kg explosives to be used It is learnt 2,500 kg to 4,000 kg of explosives could be required. However, the final quantity can be ascertained only after a test blast likely to be undertaken by April-end. A facility has been created 100 km away, where these explosives will be stored. These will be brought as per the requirement. The two towers have a built-up area of around 7.5 lakh square feet. 'Exclusion zone'  ‘Exclusion zone’ will be set up in the area on the day of the demolition and all properties falling within this will be evacuated.
