Swami Devi Dyal College :20 year old student committed suicide, students damage property

Students of Swami Devi Dyal College, Barwala, damaged college property in the wee hours on Monday. The incident was followed by the death of a student.

The incident took place after a 20 year old Noorzam, was a second-year engineering student who hailed from Nepal. He reportedly committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of the college hostel.

Enraged students damaged college property, including the chairman’s office. They alleged that they did not get immediate support from the college management.

Police are probing whether the student committed suicide or was pushed. The body has been kept at the mortuary of General Hospital, Sector 6.
