25th RBI governor meets foreign investors in Hong Kong

Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) 25th Governor, Shantikanta Das met foreign investors in Hong Kong on Tuesday. This was his first interactive meeting held abroad after he took over as RBI’s Governor in December 2018.

Shantikanta Das took it to twitter and wrote, “Held an interactive meeting with FPIs in Hong Kong today (Tuesday). Good participation and discussion.”

Ever since he took over as RBI Governor, he has been conducting various meetings with stakeholders, including heads of public sector banks, private sector banks, non-banking financial services and industry chambers.

On February 7, RBI proposed to remove 20 % foreign portfolio investor (FPI) restriction on the corporate debt market.
