45-year-old South Korean national dies during paragliding in Maharashtra

A 45-year-old South Korean national died during paragliding event near Panchgani in Maharashtra on Tuesday evening. The incident took place in Satara district.

The deceased has been identified as Sang Teak Oh, a professional paraglider. According to media sources, he took off from Rajpuri near Panchgani. He got lost during the course and slid down into the forest area. The rescue team present at the event rushed to the spot where his glider collapsed.

The team found him with serious injuries. It rushed him to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s body was handed over to the Korean embassy after post-mortem. Sang Oh's last rites will be performed in Wai as his family members have given their consent.

Police also reached the spot. It registered a case against the event company. It has also arrested its event manager, Vistas Kharas, under IPC Section 304 (A) (Causing death by negligence).
