External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to include an anti-terrorism structure in the framework.

“India strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. There can be no justification for any acts of terrorism,” Swaraj said while she asked the eight member team to strengthen coordination against terrorism.

Swaraj's remarks came just weeks after the BRICS grouping slammed terror havens and also named Pakistan-based terror groups including Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad.

Sushma Swaraj also met China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

India and Pakistan, both are a part of the SCO. India joined the SCO last June.

Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, China and Russia are among the other members.

Meanwhile, the foreign minister also stated that India would cooperate extensively in developing the SCO as an effective regional platform, and connectivity among the members is a priority for New Delhi but it must built with respect for sovereignty.
