Firing outside salon in Mohalis Sector 80, accused on the run; case registered

PTC News Desk:  Panic gripped Punjab's Mohali district after unidentified bike-borne assailants opened fire outside Hair Master Salon in Sector 80 on Wednesday evening. 

The preliminary investigation suggests, two persons riding a motorcycle arrive outside the salon and fired several rounds before fleeing the spot, triggering panic among the area. Soon after receiving the information, police teams rushed to the spot. 

Mohali DSP Harsimran Singh Bal confirmed that police received information about firing outside the salon at around 8:30 pm after salon manager informed them about the incident. Sharing details about the incident, he said that two people came on the motorcycle and opened multiple rounds of fire targeting a salon, adding that special teams have been designated to crack the case. 

The DSP further said that the salon owners have also been granted security cover . 

"We got information at about 8:30 pm from the salon that firing had taken place. We have registered an FIR in the matter and are verifying the facts," the DSP said.

Police teams have started examining CCTV footage from the area to establish the sequence of events and identify the motorcycle-borne suspects. The motive behind the firing is also being investigated.

"We will arrest the accused in this case as soon as possible," HarSimran Singh Bal said.
