Diljit Dosanjh and his Amar Singh Chamkila fail to bag any award at 53rd International Emmys

After Diljit's loss, Imtiaz Ali also missed out in the TV Movie/Mini-Series category, where his film lost to Lost Boys & Fairies produced by Duck Soup Films (UK).

PTC News Desk: Punjabi actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh earned a nomination for the 2025 International Emmy Awards in the ‘Best Performance by an Actor’ category on September 25. However, he was unable to secure the award on November 25, losing to Spanish actor Oriol Pla, who won for his role in Yo, adicto (I, Addict).


Other nominees

Besides Diljit Dosanjh (India) and Oriol Pla (Spain), actors from the UK and Colombia were also shortlisted:


Diljit Dosanjh – Amar Singh Chamkila (India)

David Mitchell – Ludwig (United Kingdom)

Oriol Pla – Yo, adicto [I, Addict] (Spain)

Diego Vasquez – One Hundred Years of Solitude (Colombia)



Diljit’s reaction to his nomination


When the nominations were announced, Diljit celebrated the news on Instagram and thanked director Imtiaz Ali for the opportunity.
