PTC Web Desk: Punjabi film actress Mandy Takhar has officially ended her marriage with Shekhar Kaushal through mutual consent, with the Saket Court in Delhi approving their divorce on Friday. The development brings a close to their brief marital journey.

Mandy and Shekhar had tied the knot in 2024, but reports suggest that the couple had been living separately since last year due to personal differences. On Friday, the duo filed a joint petition for mutual divorce, which was promptly approved by the court. Mandy’s lawyer, Advocate Ishaan Mukherjee, confirmed the court’s decision to IANS but refrained from sharing further details, citing privacy concerns.

The news has taken many fans by surprise, as Mandy has always kept her personal life largely away from the media. Neither Mandy nor Shekhar has made a public statement regarding the separation.

Mandy Takhar, who hails from Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom and has roots in a village near Phagwara, Punjab, started her acting career after moving to Mumbai. She made her film debut opposite Punjabi singer Babbu Maan in the 2010 movie 'Ekam – Son of Soil'. Her breakthrough came in 2012 with the film 'Mirza – The Untold Story', where she portrayed Sahiba alongside Gippy Grewal in a contemporary retelling of the legendary Punjabi love story.

In 2013, Mandy featured in the comedy hit 'Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22' with Amrinder Gill and Yo Yo Honey Singh, consolidating her position in the Punjabi film industry. She later expanded her portfolio to Tamil cinema with Venkat Prabhu’s 'Biriyani', starring Karthi, earning recognition for her performance. Her 2017 film 'Rabb Da Radio' also received critical acclaim and audience praise.

Mandy was most recently seen in 'Enna Nu Rehna Sehna Ni Aaunda', co-starring Sapna Pabbi and Imran Ashraf. The film narrates the story of Kiran, whose calm life in Canada is disrupted when rowdy international students move in next door, leading to a series of humorous conflicts and light-hearted rivalries.

Apart from films, Mandy has appeared in several music videos for artists like Ammy Virk, Jubin Nautiyal, and Yo Yo Honey Singh, strengthening her presence in the entertainment industry.
