Former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal tests positive for coronavirus

Coronavirus Punjab: Former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Friday informed that she has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Harsimrat Kaur Badal urged people who came in contact with her to get themselves tested for coronavirus.

Taking to Twitter, the former Union Minister wrote: "Dear all, I've tested positive for COVID-19 today with mild symptoms. Post confirmation, I have quarantined myself at home and taking all the necessary precautions and medication required. I would request those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested at the earliest."

Earlier, the Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal had tested positive for the novel coronavirus but later tested negative.

Punjab is, currently, dealing with the second wave of COVID-19. On Thursday evening, the Health Bulletin stated that the State recorded 4,333 new cases, the highest ever single-day spike in daily cases.

The single-day spike of COVID-19 cases in India has been breaking all-time daily spike records with each passing day. On Thursday, India recorded 2,00,739 new cases, the biggest ever single-day spike in COVID-19 cases.
